Yellow teeth?

I'm 19 years old and have naturally yellow teeth. When I was little I had normal, white baby teeth, however when I lost my baby teeth my adult teeth grew in yellow instead of white. It makes me so self conscious and I absolutely hate it. Are naturally yellow teeth a common occurance? Is it some type of disorder? And since they have always been that colour, home whitening products won't work. Would the only way to whiten them be to have them done at the dentists for thousands of dollars? Thanks.

Yellow teeth?
yeh when i was little i had gorgeous white baby teeth, and then when my big teeth came through they came through yellow, mine are mottled too so i'm going to have to get veneers on mine. I find that whitening products don't work so yeh i reckon you'll have to get them whitened.
Reply:i have the same problem...

but the dentist told me tat they came out yellow b/c of the fluride??? Report It

Reply:no whitening may not help it could be a disorder is it in your genes?
Reply:Yes, if the over the counter products do not work then go ahead and whiten them at the dentist which is done proffesionally. I hope I helped you.
Reply:its genetics , you just have to deal with it
Reply:I had buddy with yellow teeth I never knew it wasa natural thing... I though he did brush them. If they're naturally yellow how would they make them white?

If it helps I'd go to the dentists and spend whatever amount to have them whitened because believe me it'll effect you everwhere you go.
Reply:mine are yellow but no that yellow that u can tell only when you put somthing white next to them e.g. toothpaste but other that that im find but i think it might be in your genes does your mom and dad have white teeth?? try the whitening products again but try less teeth staining foods e.g coffee and alot of sugar products for a while
Reply:dont spend that kind of money until you have tried this: I am using the professional whitening kit from WWW.WHITERSMILE.COM.AU... I was told nothing would whiten my teeth as they were stained from medication when I was young... this stuff is inexpensive and AMAZING! I really cannot belive the difference it has made and I havent even finished yet! you even get a remineralisation gel to keep your teeth healthy (enamel etc). check it out as m next step was to get porcelain veneers!

P.S. this is the same strength peroxide used in dental clinics so if this doesnt work then the dentist wont be able to whiten them either and you'll have to look at veneers...
Reply:i think all baby teeth are white and adult ones naturally come out yellow. mine are like that too and everyone else i know.

Permanent teeth often look more yellow than primary teeth. This is normal. But it could also be caused by medicine your child took, by an accident that hurt a primary tooth, or by too much fluoride. Ask your dentist about this when you go for a check-up.

i would use oral-b rembrandt whitening strips or crest because they work pretty well and only cost about 40 dollars
Reply:The only cure would be veneers. You could probably get away with 4 in the top front. They could be made somewhere between white and the yellow that yours are. That way, they won't contrast too much with your other teeth.
Reply:maybe if you would stop biting on yellow markers..
