How does an orthodontist get a adult tooth out of your gums?

Okay, so i'm 23 and getting braces in two weeks. My orthodontist had four molars (they were bad and capped and filled) removed along with a baby tooth. However, i had to have an oral surgeon remove them and he knew it was for braces. However, i've read other places that the surgeon puts a bracket on the adult tooth that is still hiding while your under, but he didn't do that for me? What is the next option? I dont want to have to go under again, that was not pleasurable!!

?? Help, hardly any time left!

he will numb the tissue, make a little incision, cement a bracket onto the tooth, attach a wire or spring and maybe put a little stitch in the tissue. No big deal.
Reply:do you mean teh wisdom tooth. They do a root canal adn with proper anausthisia pull it out. It shoudl nto take more than an hour
Reply:that's a new one for me i had that done to me over 20 years ago and on bracket was used they pull all that was needed and it stayed that way . i don't know you they would do such a thing when it would make you problems come back in time .
Reply:So you do still have a permanent tooth that hasn't erupted (where the baby tooth was)? It may be at an angle that it will come in on it's own since you had the 4 premolars extracted.
