2 tone teeth ??

a few of my front teeth have always been 2 tone, ever since I got my adult teeth. What I mean by 2 tone is. theres a little part at the bottom of my teeth thats always way whiter than the rest of my tooth. I've tried whitening to get my teeth the same shade of white, but the parts that are whiter, just brighten up with the rest of my teeth and its still noticable. Does anyone know what causes this, and how I get rid of it? Other people say they cant notice it but I notice it every time I open my mouth and it drives me nuts.

I lost all the enamel on my two front adult teeth when they came in and they were pretty speckled, almost brown and white. My dentist (now this was 15 years ago), sanded them down and now they are all the same shade. This is something you should prob talk to your dentist about.
Reply:a few kids at school have that and said its like calcium or something that i dont think you can get rid of. i myself have a molar thats a little darker on top and yellow on bottom...personally i think its disgusting but the dentist said its just lack of enamel so i need to use flouride toothpaste...

you could try just whitening your teeth so they match? im not sure...good luck! :-)
Reply:hmm
Reply:Staining can be caused by antibiotics taken when the teeth were forming, particularly tetracycline. If it's really bothering you, see a dentist about having veneers put on the teeth that will cover them and give a uniform color. The stain is not superficial and will probably not respond to standard topical bleaching, so you need something that actually covers the stained tooth surface.
Reply:IT COULD BE DUE TO A DIFFERENCE IN THE ENAMEL LAYER OF YOUR TOO DUE TO A FEVER OR INFECTION WHEN THE TEETH WERE FORMING. COULD BE DUE TO DECALCIFICATION OF THE ENAMEL. ONE OF THE BEST WAYS WOULD BE VENEERS THESE ARE MINIMALLY INVASIVE AND WILL NOT DISCOLOR.
Reply:just ask your dentist to whiten your teeth and it will go away or ask him if he knows how to fix it
Reply:Well A few people at school that i know had that and i asked why they said it was a cavity i don't know if that has anything to do with it but if you ask your dentist they help alot also you should use fluoride tooth paste I for instants bush my teeth 3 times a day maybe 4 times because I have braces,But be careful when you brush and know what your doing just incase i hope i help.
