Teeth whitening: i am a adult who has drank too much coffee! i would like to whiten my teeth at home, but?

...have a dental plate at the front. all the commercial whiteners i have looked at state that they will not work on dentures/dental plates. do you know what would work -- to whiten BOTH my natural teeth and the plate?

Listerine whitening rinse.
Reply:I have a dozen crowns, so I know what you mean.

I think the plate will only clean up to what it was when it was made.

I use Baking Soda to clean surface staining, hydrogen peroxide to help the bleaching process. Whitening toothpaste and rinse will help some.

The dentist is who you need to talk to about the serious and total whitening.

Good Luck.
Reply:NOTHING WILL YOUR WORK FOR THE DENTURE/PLATE. BUT YOU CAN USE CREST WHITE STRIPS FOR YOUR NATURAL TEETH, AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO VENEERS OR CROWNS. AS FAR AS THE DENTURE IS CONCERNED,

HAVE A NEW ONE MADE THAT HAS WHITER TEETH.
Reply:I read recently where someone said just swish hydrogen peroxide around in your mouth for ten minutes and it will whiten your teeth. Works great for me!
Reply:Dr Albert is correct (THO I WISH HE WOULDN'T SHOUT SO MUCH! LOL)..... you need to whiten (whether w/ a custom tray or w/ Crest strips...) FIRST, get your natural teeth as white as they can go and then do one of two things:

1 - have a whole new partial made; if it's more than 10 years old you may need a new one anyway. orrrr

2 - have the dentist send the partial to the lab and have them jsut replace the anterior teeth. This usually costs only a coupla hundred bucks rather that 1000-1500 for a new partial.

you could try dropping your denture in a peroxide rinse and scrubbing it w/ a brush, but that probably won't have a very dramatic effec t.....

good luck!
Reply:Or you could try going to a denturist where they industrial strenght cleaners for dentures, partials ect... They can clean them far better than any over the counter means.
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and

are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural

tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries

but certain precautions have to be taken.

  1. There are so many ways to make our teeth whiter than ever. There are already some remedies which you can do at home. But for those who have enough money, they go to the dental clinic and let their dentist do the rest. I kinda have yellow teeth too, and I'm thinking of having it whitened soon!
