Six Year Son First Adult Tooth appear?

My Six year old son child two tooths have fallen but it is now more than six months but his adult tooth is not coming out. Is that normal? Any urgency to visit dentist now?

Six Year Son First Adult Tooth appear?
If it was upper teeth, this is actually normal. Lowers usually do not delay too long, though. This can wait until his next regular check-up visit.
Reply:It wouldn't hurt just to have an x-ray done on the area. That will show where the teeth are.It is a little bit strange, because when baby teeth fall out, that means the permanent teeth have pushed them out and they are right behind them if not already showing. So i would recommend the x-ray.
Reply:they may take some time. regular dental visits for cleanings every six months is all you should need.
Reply:Sure its normal, my daugter is going through the same thing. It will come in when its ready, but it wouldn't hurt to take him to the dentist anyway.
Reply:I would go and see ur dentist just to make sure everything is okay...seems to be fine though they will come when its time.
Reply:Absolutely NORMAL... Baby teeth come in quite fast once the first one comes. BUT, permanents dont. They take time. They may not be fully developed or ready to come out. My son was missing his front teeth for a complete year before his front permanent teeth, finally came through. You have to remember baby teeth are alot smaller than permanents. Permanents need room to come through. If theres not enough room, they may not come through till 2 teeth are missing side by side.

Bottom line, give it alittle time. I'm sure he's fine. If your worried, when his 6 month recall/cleaning appointment is due, ask at that time. Theres NO reason to make a special appointment just for this. It's NOT an emergency....
Reply:Yes, this is normal. Often, the adult teeth do not immediately follow the exfoliation (falling out) of the baby teeth. Sometimes, the other 2 front teeth are holding them up, or the gum tissue is holding them back. Usually if you place your finger over the gum tissue in the space, you can feel the edges of the adult teeth right underneath! I would suggest that you bring your son to the dentist. It is important for children to have already seen the dentist by this age. A simple x-ray can be taken and others as well to make sure the adult teeth are developing properly and in the correct positions. Don't worry about it, be patient and if you are concerned, get him checked out!
Reply:Hi, I actually had this problem. If you feel overly concerned get an x-ray, however, they took x-ray's of my teeth, and no tooth appeared. Then about three years later, my adult tooth finally came in. No one thought I was going to get my adult tooth, but I did.
Reply:BE ASSURED, THE PERMANENT TOOTH WILL ERUPT IN DUE TIME. THE BEST ADVISE IS FROM DR. SAM...
Reply:yes that normal until 8years old so don't worry
