Husband age 24 had a baby tooth extracted will the adult tooth grow out?

My husband's tooth (not in the front -more towards the side back) was extracted. The dentist said it was a baby tooth which was odd since he is 24 years old. My question is if it is possible for the adult tooth to come down on its own?

Husband age 24 had a baby tooth extracted will the adult tooth grow out?
Did the dentist check an xray to see if there was a permanent tooth present? If there was no permanent tooth, then no, the adult tooth will not come down because it doesn't exist (also referred to as congenitally missing).

If there is a permanent tooth present, it may come down. But if it is impacted it won't. If it doesn't, some orthodontics could help it out. Ask the dentist if the permanent tooth shows on xray.
Reply:it probably won't because he is older, at least not on its own.. he would have to get something to pull it down, braces? im not sure what but he would need something to help pull it down. ask his dentist
Reply:I would say probably not. Usually baby teeth reabsorb the roots of the adult tooth and then erupt into the mouth. If he is 24 and it has not done that, it is possible that he doesn't have an adult tooth under there, or that it is locked into the bone at this point. I have never seen anything other than wisdom teeth erupt after someone is an adult. Baby teeth dont stop an adult tooth from coming in. If it doesn't come out like it is supposed to, the adult tooth will just come in on the inside or outside of it. Your husbands xrays should tell the dentist if there is a tooth or not. He can probably get a bridge (depending on what tooth it is) or an implant.
Reply:Probally not. But the only way to find out would be to get xrays done and see if there is an adult tooth under the gum.
Reply:The chances of a permanent tooth erupting normally past the age of 25 is almost zero. You may want to consider a little help from an orthodontist. To find out more on impacted tooth management, go to http://www.dentalimplantsaustralia.com/

Is it normal for an adult to have only 28 teeth?

32 is the norm but it's not unheard of by any means for some teeth to not develop especially the wisdom teeth.

Is it normal for an adult to have only 28 teeth?
Umm no there pose to have 32 but if you didnt take care of them. yah!
Reply:32 would include your wisdom teeth. If you've had your wisdom teeth out, you would have only 28. I on the other hand had braces. The dentist removed my wisdom teeth and also 4 other teeth. I only have 24...but their perfectly straight %26amp; white !

I am an adult with a baby tooth?

Is there an easier procedure to get this tooth down other than getting braces and "cranking down" my adult tooth?

I am an adult with a baby tooth?
all i can say is MAKE SURE THERE ACTUALLY IS A PERM TOOTH UP THERE ALOT OF PEOPLE R BORN W/OUT TEETH
Reply:Pull out the baby tooth. Floss+Doorknob+Slam=your happiness.
Reply:Get another opinion. Pulling a baby tooth out of an adult mouth is not rocket science.
Reply:You might not have a permanent tooth and that is why you still have the baby tooth. Consult your dentist to see if you even have a permanent tooth.
Reply:No. Not really. It is better getting it wenched down like that than to wait until it becomes a prolem and gets infected and you loose BOTH that hidden adult tooth and the baby tooth. It is really common, but the braces and wench thing is amazingly successful and the best way without causeing your mouth more trauma than needed, which might lead to loosing teeth you want to keep!
Reply:No. there is no other way to my best of knowledge, because of your age. If you were a child the body will take care of it normally when a dentist removes the baby tooth.
Reply:TO GET THE ADULT TOOTH INTO PROPER POSITION YOU WILL NEED 2 THINGS.

1 = EXTRACT THE BABY TOOTH AND

2= SURGICALLY GUIDE THE ADULT TOOTH WITH ORTHODONTICS.

EXPENSIVE = YES

WORTH IT = DEFINITELY!
Reply:Pull the tooth out, and you will feel much better. Best Wishes!

How to tell if a tooth is a baby tooth or an adult tooth?

My son has a loose tooth, but he and I both forgot if it has fallen out yet. He bit a hard piece of thing (still don't know what) and now it's loose. I don't want him to get a replacement tooth, so I want to know if there's an adult tooth to fill its place.

How to tell if a tooth is a baby tooth or an adult tooth?
It should be substantially smaller than any of his permanent teeth that have come in already.

If it is an adult tooth and has gotten loose by biting something hard (however that rarely happens unless there is gum disease present) you can wait a couple of days. If it is simply a loose adult tooth, it will tighten back up again.
Reply:an x-ray would show if a tooth BUD is underneath the gums. If it is an adult tooth, it could tighten back up on its own.
Reply:if he has allready had his adult tooth come in, it would not come loose just by biting something hard. if you really want to be sure, take him to the dentist.
Reply:Just go to the dentist!
Reply:How old is your son? If he is between 8 to 12, he is experiencing tooth replacing. 1 of his teeth will begin to be loose, and it will fall out about 1 to 3 weeks. When you make the particular tooth pain by eating hard things, the more faster the tooth will drop off. If your son is afraid of pain, I encourage you to bring him to a dentist where they use tools to make the tooth drop off. I save money by making my tooth drop off my own. It saves money and it does not really feel pain to take off the tooth itself.

I have a loose adult tooth what do i do? should i get braces?

i was at basket ball practice and i got and elbow to the mouth and it knock my front adult tooth back and i push it back in place but now its loose and i dont want to lose my front tooth

I have a loose adult tooth what do i do? should i get braces?
Braces don't keep your teeth in,,,they just straighten your teeth. If your tooth is loose, then I would go to a dentist to check it out. If it's too loose, they'll probably just pull it and put a fake one in. Getting teeth pulled isn't that painful, im 15 years old and I got 4 teeth pulled in one day, and I didnt' feel any pain, just a little bit of pressure.
Reply:Go to the dentist! Ask them!
Reply:DON'T wiggle it anymore. First thing in the morning, call your dentist, or any dentist, and explain what happened. You won't need an orthodontist (braces). Hopefully they will be able to see you within a day or two and let you know what your options are. Some of which may be: bracing it from behind, they may suggest removing it and replacing it with a flipper, a bridge or an implant, or they may even just watch it and see if it tightens up on its own. My guess is that even if it would tighten up on it's own, you may still need a root canal to keep it from getting infected.

If it would have come out, the best thing you could do is place the tooth in milk until you could see a dentist.
Reply:you should consider going to the dentist to have it checked out

Six Year Son First Adult Tooth appear?

My Six year old son child two tooths have fallen but it is now more than six months but his adult tooth is not coming out. Is that normal? Any urgency to visit dentist now?

Six Year Son First Adult Tooth appear?
If it was upper teeth, this is actually normal. Lowers usually do not delay too long, though. This can wait until his next regular check-up visit.
Reply:It wouldn't hurt just to have an x-ray done on the area. That will show where the teeth are.It is a little bit strange, because when baby teeth fall out, that means the permanent teeth have pushed them out and they are right behind them if not already showing. So i would recommend the x-ray.
Reply:they may take some time. regular dental visits for cleanings every six months is all you should need.
Reply:Sure its normal, my daugter is going through the same thing. It will come in when its ready, but it wouldn't hurt to take him to the dentist anyway.
Reply:I would go and see ur dentist just to make sure everything is okay...seems to be fine though they will come when its time.
Reply:Absolutely NORMAL... Baby teeth come in quite fast once the first one comes. BUT, permanents dont. They take time. They may not be fully developed or ready to come out. My son was missing his front teeth for a complete year before his front permanent teeth, finally came through. You have to remember baby teeth are alot smaller than permanents. Permanents need room to come through. If theres not enough room, they may not come through till 2 teeth are missing side by side.

Bottom line, give it alittle time. I'm sure he's fine. If your worried, when his 6 month recall/cleaning appointment is due, ask at that time. Theres NO reason to make a special appointment just for this. It's NOT an emergency....
Reply:Yes, this is normal. Often, the adult teeth do not immediately follow the exfoliation (falling out) of the baby teeth. Sometimes, the other 2 front teeth are holding them up, or the gum tissue is holding them back. Usually if you place your finger over the gum tissue in the space, you can feel the edges of the adult teeth right underneath! I would suggest that you bring your son to the dentist. It is important for children to have already seen the dentist by this age. A simple x-ray can be taken and others as well to make sure the adult teeth are developing properly and in the correct positions. Don't worry about it, be patient and if you are concerned, get him checked out!
Reply:Hi, I actually had this problem. If you feel overly concerned get an x-ray, however, they took x-ray's of my teeth, and no tooth appeared. Then about three years later, my adult tooth finally came in. No one thought I was going to get my adult tooth, but I did.
Reply:BE ASSURED, THE PERMANENT TOOTH WILL ERUPT IN DUE TIME. THE BEST ADVISE IS FROM DR. SAM...
Reply:yes that normal until 8years old so don't worry

Best way to pull an adult tooth.?

My brother in law has an adult molar top tooth that needs to come out as he's been in pain for weeks. He can't afford a dentist, and even if he could, there are none open around here. The tooth is lose from him trying to pull it out, there doesn't seem to be any swelling or infection. I'm asking the best way for him to get this over with without doing any permanent damage. He thinks he can get it out, well it's coming out tonight one way or another he says...do we need to be concerned about the root? Will the root break off it or does it come out with the tooth? He was going to get num on liquor, but I mentioned that will make the bleeding worst. He's keeping Orajel on it at the moment. So whats the best way to do this?

Best way to pull an adult tooth.?
Hi, I'm a dentist.

Dentistry should be performed by those who are trained. Attempting to pull your own tooth is essentially attempting surgery with no training.

If you cannot afford dentistry, you likely will qualify for medicaid or emergency medicaid to at least treat a tooth causing pain.

You might get the tooth out, and if you do, there will be three roots. If one of the roots breaks off, you're pretty much screwed, and you're going to have to pay more money to see an oral surgeon to go in after the root tip, as it will cause an abscess.

Just don't do it. If you get it right, it'll be pure luck.

I have a feeling you're going to try it anyway, but you were warned.
Reply:Search for it on youtube, there are some successful examples there.
Reply:He has to get it done by a dentist! He'll most likley need a few stitches after its out, because ther will be a huge hole. Honestly, that was really dumb trying to get it out yourself, He should have gone somewhere to get it checked out, and it wouldn't have needed to be pulled. There will be a lot of bleeding, and a large hole where it was. His gums will get swollen and icky. He'll prolly break off the root too, and that will have to be surgically removed. I had 3 adult teeth pulled in surgery, and they had to break the teeth in three parts to get them out, and some root stayed and that had to be removed also. I had 9 stitches between three teeth. I had to get them pulled becasue I am missing one of the four, so they are going to move all my teeth foward.
Reply:Try googling a dental school near you.

Believe me, if you can't afford to get a tooth taken out right now, then it'll be EVEN WORSE when its taken out un-professionally and it'll get infected or something like that.

Dental schools give patients free or low cost appointments.

What foods can an adult eat who has had all the teeth removed from his upper mouth?

My husband had a partial and then had to have four teeth removed. He is waiting to receive his permanent teeth but this will not happen until April 4th. In the meantime, I am at my wits end trying to cook "soft" items that he can "gum" without any difficulty. As a result, he is not eating dinner at night, with the exceptions of soups or beans in a broth. What are some other items that I may be able to cook for him that will satisfy his appetite. At the rate that he is going, he will be skinny as a rake by April. He is already a small man and does not need to loose any weight! Please help me out. Thank you for what ever suggestions that you can give me.

What foods can an adult eat who has had all the teeth removed from his upper mouth?
I had to cope with a similar problem with my elderly father. It wasn't so difficult. Can he eat pasta? Ground meats? If so, the door is open for tasty and meaty things like lasagna or spaghetti bolognese. Then there are cannelloni, ravioli, meat loaf, burger patties. There are pates, quiche, omelets, egg and tuna salads. Thick, tasty soups like split pea and vichyssoise. As a last resort, you can make baby-type foods: just put a mix of cooked, well-seasoned goodies in a blender or food processor, give it a good spin, and voila! Not particularly visually appealing, but tasty and nutritious.
Reply:Mashed potatoes, applesauce, if you don't have one go out get a food processor, even a mini one (I got one a walmart for about 5 dollars), grind up meat and stuff looks nasty, but it's good.
Reply:Soft foods. like soups, stews, bananas, apple sauce, mac and cheese. Although my uncle is diabetic and had all his teeth pulled out and now has dentures, well he hates his dentures and loves to eat, and somehow he manages to eat the normal things like burgers, steaks, nachos, with out his dentures in his mouth. I don't know how he does it.
Reply:soup and mashed potatoes
Reply:I am also having to make soft foods for a couple of days since my daughter just had her braces put on.

I am making her oatmeal, scrambled eggs with cheese (lots of protein and calories there) yogurt smoothies blended with bananas, strawberries and/or peaches. You can also give him meal supplement shakes (Ensure, Boost, Carnation Instant Breakfasts) as a way to keep up with calories.
Reply:milkshakes...pudding ...mashed potatoes...applesauce...mashed sweet potatoes, mashed up bananas with chocolate sauce... tomato soup...yogurt...soft serve ice cream...cheddar cheese soup...protein drinks
Reply:My husband had to have all his teeth pulled 10 years ago before his heart surgery. We have not been able to afford to have any dentures made for him so he's been without any teeth since then. He eats anything--steak, pork chops, ribs--you name it!

Does doxycycline cause adults teeth to turn yellow??

I've read that children under the age of 8 shouldn't take it for this reason, and it can affect unborn babies teeth, but does anyone know about how it affects adults teeth, if at all?

Does doxycycline cause adults teeth to turn yellow??
Doxycyline doesn't cause yellowish discolouration in adults.

it is contraindicated in children because it is incorporated inside there developing teeth causing yellowish discolouration.
Reply:I took doxycycline for quite some time and I felt that my teeth were a bit yellowish, but not too bad. I have done a few treatments of white strips and it helps.

Just had adult tooth pulled?

i just had an adult tooth pulled and it really hurts any thing i can do to relieve the pain ?

Just had adult tooth pulled?
If you just had a tooth pulled ..do not rinse your mouth out! that could dislodge the clot...do not put anything on it. Try to take some ibprophen you can take for that is the same dose as the prescription ibprophen and call your denist first thing tommorrow to have him call in some pain meds..Did he give you infection meds? If not you willl need that too.
Reply:put some oragel on it and take some advil
Reply:Maybe some orajel or other oral pain reliever. Chloroseptic. I'm surprised that your dentist didnt give you any pain meds or something to numb the pain.
Reply:YOU GOT A CAVITY!!!! CRAP!!!
Reply:It is the worst pain! I hope they gave you pain killers b/c that is the only thing that will help. Also, taking advil will help. Have you tried rinsing your mouth with warm water and salt?

If these things don't work then all I can tell you is that in 2 days you will be feeling much better!

DO NOT PUT ORiGEL ON AN OPEN WOUND IN YOUR MOUTH!!!!!

Hope you feel better!!!

How long does it take for a parana to develope it's teeth? to become an adult?
By the time you read this your pet may already have teeth, they come in quickly and he'll go thru several sets during his lifetime. And he won't be ferocious, piranha won't attack unless they're very hungry or there is blood in the water, then they're like a shark and they go into a feeding frenzy. In the Amazon native guides routinely wade and swim around the boats in piranha-infested areas and if they have no cuts they seem to feel safe. I wouldn't do it but I've seen them do it without any hesitation.

Okay, bizarre dental question.. any adults with baby teeth?

I'm pretty embarrassed to admit it, but when I was young, I had a loose baby tooth. I was too scared to get it pulled and my parents didn't seem to care. I'm 23 years old and have never been to a dentist. I still have a baby tooth behind the adult tooth. It doesn't hurt, but the adult tooth is seriously misshapen and misplaced. I'm getting insurance soon and would like to have it extracted.

Is there anyone else who has had the same experience? Any advice you can give me? Thanks!

Okay, bizarre dental question.. any adults with baby teeth?
I still have some baby teeth and I'm going to be 34 next month. The permanent ones can be seen up in my gums on the dental Xrays. I would suggest going to the dentist as you are already planning because he/she will give you his/her opinion on what should be done about it. Good luck.
Reply:DON'T EXTRACT IT JUST YET. YOU MAY NOT HANE A PERMANENT ONE BENEATH AND MAY HAVE TO KEEP THIS ONE AS AN ADULT.

I SEE THIS IN SOME OF MY PATIENTS.

My puppy has an adult tooth that came in right next to her baby tooth. Will the baby tooth fall out or not?

Her adult fang is literally right next to her baby tooth and the gum is swollen right in that area. Will her baby tooth eventually fall out (hopefully soon) or do I need to take her to the vet to get it pulled?

My puppy has an adult tooth that came in right next to her baby tooth. Will the baby tooth fall out or not?
It could go either way. I would give it a few days and if it's still there, call the vet.
Reply:it should come out with no problem. when my cat was getting his adult teeth, same thing happened with the canine coming out behind the baby tooth. it's normal.
Reply:You should give the tooth a couple more days to fall out, about 5. If the tooth doesn't fall out you should take her to the vet, after the 5 days pass, but for now feed her soft foods.
Reply:Yes it should fall out. Be sure to give you puppy chew toys- this can sometimes help the process. Be sure the toy isn't too hard though.
Reply:No it won't - this tooth should have been pulled as soon as you could see the adult tooth coming in.
Reply:Her baby tooth will eventually fall out. But with her gums swelling i would call the vet to get some medicine to take the swelling out of her gums. B/c if that was me i would be in alot of pain.
Reply:What you're refering too is the puppies deciduous teeth (puppy teeth) Usually puppies and kittens have all of their adult teeth by 6 months of age. You will need to take the puppy to the Vet and have it pulled. Puppies and kittens usually need to be spayed/neutered around 6 months of age (about the same time they should have all of their adult teeth) at the time of the spay/neuter (when your pet is already sedated for surgery) is usually when they pull any puppy/kitten teeth that are remaining. If you dont have it pulled, there could be some potential problems (crowding, infection due to debri geeting stuck inbetween puppy/adult teeth due to the crowding). Its really no big deal, your Vet will take care of it so I wouldnt be worried. Its actually pretty common! Good luck!
Reply:This happend to my dog too at that age. It didn't fall out on it's own but when I took him to get nuteured they pulled it for me free of charge. I'd say let the vet deal with it next time you visit if it doesn't fall out on it's own.
Reply:This happened to my puppy when she was 5 months old, and the baby fang fell out about a week or two later.

It is a good idea to have your veterinarian pull any extra teeth when she is spayed.
Reply:It may or may not fall out. You could try and wiggle it a bit to see if it's loosening. Smaller breeds are more likely to have retained deciduous teeth (baby teeth). If they don't eventually fall out they can cause problems with the adult teeth. If you are having your puppy spayed or neutered, the baby teeth can be removed at the same time.

Im 19, just had a baby tooth pulled out, how long for adult tooth to come in?

I'm 19 years old, i recently went to get braces put on and discovered i still had a baby tooth(Upper Right Canine)... x rays were taken and showed that my adult tooth is directly behind the baby tooth... i had the baby tooth and the tooth next to it pulled... its been about 5 months ago and the adult tooth has yet to even break the surface... my ortho told me if it hasnt started by mid january ill need to have my gum cut to expose the tooth so they can put an attachment on that connects to the wire of the braces and pulls it down.... is there any chance i wont have to go thru that? Or how long should it take for my tooth to grow in normally?

Im 19, just had a baby tooth pulled out, how long for adult tooth to come in?
I had a similar problem when i was 17, i went to a dentist and he found out that 1 of my teeth is a baby tooth, and he told there wouldnt be any new teeth grow at that spot at that age, he said if that tooth was pulled out i would have to plant a fake tooth at that spot. Weirdest thing is i still have that tooth right now at 21 and it works fine.
Reply:This is a question only a highly competent dentist or orthodontist can answer......they must take x-rays and get an opinion of it.

You might also want to consult with an oral surgeon...just a consultation...take the x-rays with you if you see an oral surgeon.

Is it ok to pull a loose adult tooth??

I have a loose back tooth an adult tooth… I realize this tooth will not grow back and I will have a gap. But I just want to know if I can pull it myself?

It is my far back lower tooth. The tooth has been repaired by the dentist many times. Two root canals performed on this tooth, have turned it into ground down useless tooth anyways. The crowns keep falling out and the parts of the tooth that are left are sharp and annoying. I am tired of fixing this tooth and would be interested in a fake back tooth as its replacement.

Is it ok to pull it out myself – currently its loose.

Is it ok to pull a loose adult tooth??
i dont noe wahat too to tell good luck go to da dentist
Reply:Only if it is REALLY loose. Then put it in a bag of milk and go to your dentist.
Reply:No No please don't pull out your adult tooth!

It could get infected and what not, it really is a job for the dentist, even if you have nothing put back in its place.
Reply:If it's loose enough, go ahead and take it out!! It sounds like your body is rejecting the tooth and it's trying to force it out anyway. There is no special need for dental tools on a very loose tooth. We only need dental tools when the tooth is fully intake.

Try numbing your mouth with ice... it helps with pain and bleeding
Reply:yes of course it's okay to pull a tooth, but only if the reasoning backs it up. usually reason is decay, which sounds like your tooth. when a tooth is heavily restored with large fillings, root canaled, and/or caps put on them, it's cause the tooth has got decayed so badly that the dentist needed to get rid of alot of tooth.

do not pull it out yourself. it's tempting i know. esp at night when there's alot of pain and you can't sleep or eat. but what can happen and more likely will happen is the crown is broken off leaving the root part of the tooth in your mouth. this 'stump' can become infected, decayed, and ... smelly.

cost and pain are two big reasons people avoid the dentist. if it's cost, try a dental school or a county hospital with an oral surgery dept. many times treatment is free or low low cost comparative to private practice. oral surgeons and dentists are all trained well to take out teeth. impacted wisdom teeth may be something an oral surgeon should take out, but either case, you will be numbed very profoundly and given some good post-op meds when you leave. really nothing to be afraid of.

good luck

Braces loose adult tooth?

okay.. i have braces and its an adult tooth and it feels loose. When i look in the mirror i can actually see the tooth wiggle a couple of centimeters

Braces loose adult tooth?
Advise your orthodontist of this ASAP! Some teeth will feel "loose" all though it is'n that common. Using extreme forces to move teeth can result in teeth feeling loose. It's not a healthy state for the tooth to be in but it should firm up once the body lays down more bone as the tooth moves. Still let the practice know about this...

Adult Tooth Question?

My top front adult tooth feels a little bit loose when i try to wiggle it and i'm a little worried that it could fall out. I'm wondering was it because of my braces I had on or retainers or could it be when I chipped the cap of it once when I fell? But anyways i'm wondering if I can get this treated so it still stays on. Also what should I take to strengthen it?

Adult Tooth Question?
go see a dentist.
Reply:See a dentist. It may have been that with braces, you had some root resorption.... You may need a permanent wire from one eye tooth to the other to get it to re-establish itself. Only a qualified dentist can tell you all of your options, and what is best for you.
Reply:You should probably contact your dentist to have them look at it and recommend treatment that would help you. Braces can loosen teeth a little, not so much that you would notice that's why you should see your dentist.

I have an adult tooth growing in front of a baby tooth?

I'm 13 y.o. and i have one adult canine growing in front of my baby tooth. It's grown higher into my gum than my other canine tooth. Is this normal? do i have to get the baby tooth pulled out? will my canine grow back in it's normal place, or do i need braces? has this happened to you before?

I have an adult tooth growing in front of a baby tooth?
Yes it happened to me and the dentist didn't pull it and it made me buck toothed. Have the dentist to pull it.
Reply:This happened to me. See the dentist and they will pull the baby tooth out so the other one can grow in properly.
Reply:yes. this has happened to me before. in fact, i 'm not an expert and pulling out teeths-_-. usually, my adult teeth grows and then, i pull out my teeth. you should keep shaking the baby tooth and yes. the adult teeth that is growing will go to the place where the baby tooth was. i dont think that you'll need braces. just sometimes(after you pull out the baby teeth) , push the adult teeth to the place really lightly. everyday. it worked for me (:
Reply:It is not normal, but it is not unusual, either. My sister and my niece both had this problem, and both had to have a dentist pull the baby tooth. If you wait too long, it will keep your other teeth from growing in straight. You may have this happen with a few others, too. My sister had hers pulled as soon as our mom noticed what was happening, but my niece didn't get hers done early enough, and had to have braces.

Adult tooth getting pulled!?

In a week i am getting an adult tooth pulled out...they're going to put me on laughing gas on novicain...how much will it hurt? What are the side effects? and how will i feel afterwards?

Adult tooth getting pulled!?
they are not gonna put you out, your gonna be awake! they are gonna first give you nitrous oxide (laughing gas) this will calm u and m ake u relaxed as though your really sleepy.. then they will put on the topical anesthetic to numb the gums before the injection... once your numb you'll just feel pressure... as far as afterwards your head may be a little bit cloudy, have someone drive you.. some people feel nausia after the nitrous, some throw up, just worse case scenario, before you leave the give u straight oxygen to clear your head a little bit... after the numbness wears off you will be sore and im sure the doctor will give you something for pain... check this link for more information

http://www.webmd.com/oral-health/Tooth-e...
Reply:I little novacain and you wont feel much except a little tugging.

The sound is occassionally worrying , but the gas should deal with that.

You have a little bleeding , usually packed off with gauze for awile. It takes a few days for the gum to fill in the missing tooth so you need to brush carefully and rinse well.

Depending what tooth is pulled you may want a partial denture or tooth implant.
Reply:When the novocain wears off, it will hurt, but how much depends on your tolerance for pain. You can't drink out of a straw or spit for several days after, you could get an abcess. Trust me, after 2 at once (my wisdom teeth), you don't want that. I will forever hate the taste of cloves. If they give you pain meds, take them and that should help you through the worst of it. Also, be prepared to eat soft foods, or only chew on one side. I enjoyed macaroni and cheese, pbj sandwiches, and those diet shakes (they have a lot of nutrition in them).

Hope that helps you get through the worst of it. ;)
Reply:Usually the patient is calm and doesn't feel anything.

Good luck!
Reply:we don't use nitrous oxide because, while it is not a neuro-toxin itself, it deprives the brain of oxygen and that kills brain cells. we consider it non-biologic. we do use iv conscious sedation, though. we don't use novacaine or anything with epinephrine in it or a vasc-constrictor, because it hampers healing.

EXTRACTIONS

Extractions have to be done well. Normally they pull a tooth out, stick a piece of gauze in there and say bite on it. After the tooth is removed, the socket has to be completely cleaned so that complete healing can occur. If tissue such as torn pieces of ligaments or periosteum is left in the socket and covers the bone, the bone will tend to heal over the top, leaving a hole in the bone, and new bone cannot form. This hole can persist for the rest of the patient's life. It is a chronic infection that is called an alveolar cavitational osteopathosis or cavitation. This means that there is an infected cavity in the bone. These bone infections are only now being seriously researched. If they are fairly easy to prevent by proper socket cleaning, why is this not being done? But many if not most dentists have never heard of cavitations.

CAVITATIONS

A cavitation is an unhealed hole in the jawbone caused by an extracted tooth [or a root canal or an injury to a tooth]. Since wisdom teeth are the most commonly extracted teeth, most cavitations are found in the wisdom tooth sites. Please see the graphic and photo below to get a glimpse of what may be in your mouth and the effects it is having. The photo and diagram demonstrate the destructive and pathologic consequence of a routine tooth extraction. Dentists are taught in dental school that once they pull a tooth, the patient's body heals the resulting hole in the jawbone. However, approximately 95% of all tooth extractions result in a pathologic defect called a cavitation. The tooth is attached to the jawbone by a periodontal ligament which is comprised of "jillions" of microscopic fibers. One end of each fiber is attached to the jawbone and the other end of the fiber is attached to the tooth root. When a tooth is extracted, the fibers break midway between the root and the bone. This leaves the socket (the area where the root was anchored in the bone) coated with periodontal ligament fibers.

There are specialized cells in the bone called osteoblasts. Osteoblasts make new bone. The word "osteoblast" means bone former. They are active during growth and maintenance. However, the periodontal ligament prevents the osteoblasts from filling in the tooth socket with bone since the periodontal ligament fibers lining the socket act as a barrier beyond which the osteoblasts cannot form bone. In other words, an osteoblast "sees" a tooth when it "sees" periodontal ligament fibers. Since there are billions of bacteria in the mouth, they easily get into the open tooth socket. Since the bone is unable to fill in the defect of the socket, the newly formed "cavitation" is now infected. Since there is no blood supply to the "cavitation" it is called "ischemic" or "avascular" (without a blood supply). This results in necrosis (tissue death). Hence we call a cavitation an unhealed, chronically infected, avascular, necrotic hole in the bone. The defect acts to an acupuncture meridian the same way a dead tooth (or root canal tooth) acts. It causes an interference field on the meridian which can impair the function and health of other tissues, organs and structures on the meridian. Significantly, the bacteria in the cavitation also produce the same deadly toxins that are produced by the bacteria in root canals (see Root Canals). These toxins are thio-ethers (most toxic organic substance known to man), thio-ethanols, and mercaptans. They have been found in the tumors in women with breast cancer.

Loose adult tooth??!!?

Ok...i was running to a store to go in and someone opened the door and i slammed my mouth on the door.

Now i have one loose adult tooth ( the big on in the front top)

it isnt really THAT loose its jus a little wiggly ( the tooth is strong enough that if i try moving it with my tounge it wont move but with my finger it will)

well thanks for the answers

Loose adult tooth??!!?
I just busted a tooth out with air soft guns, and really, you should probably get it checked out by a trusted dentist. You dont want to wait with something like that. You may have to deal with it for the rest of your life.
Reply:You haven't actually asked a question.

At any rate, if you're wondering what to do, you should probably ask a dentist to take a look at it. Sometimes a loose tooth will lock back into its socket on its own, but sometimes it doesn't. You need to find out if the root is damaged or not.
Reply:So what is the question?
Reply:All teeth are somewhat loose. Perhaps the pain from hitting it caused you to move it with your finger to check it out. If so you could have just realized then that they are mobile. If it is more loose than normal i would see a dentist if its not better in a day or two. I'm moving my teeth now with my finger and they are perfectly healthy. Check to see if the tooth next to it can move in the same way! Good luck!
Reply:The best thing to do is to consult your dentist. Have him take some x-rays on that tooth to check if it caused trauma which might later lead to infection and tooth discoloration. Have it checked ASAP.

Wiggly adult tooth after getting hit?

will my adult tooth go back to normal, it got hit with a large hard objuct and theres a big cut over it and the tooth is a littlle wiggley. i was just wondsering if it will go black or if it will stay wiggly or if anything else will happen to it

Wiggly adult tooth after getting hit?
Leave it alone, it should be fine. If you wiggle it non-stop you may just lose that tooth.
Reply:Go to the dentist.
Reply:I would recommend going to a dentist and having it x-rayed to make sure the root isn't fractured. It sounds like it could be.

Adult tooth pulled?

Hi i got my adult tooth pulled on the bottom and I had rice just now and i didnt thinking about it but A peice of it went into the hole of where the tooth was. now im wondering what do i do?

Adult tooth pulled?
Swish and rinse with water dear, then spit with some pucker power or swallow. It should swish right out of there.
Reply:Swish water over and over until it comes out!
Reply:Okay this should not cause a problem. Rinse your mouth with boiled cool water at least three to four times at intervals of five hours. If the rice grain did go into the hole where the tooth was it will come out by swishing. Remember, that hole will not remain a hole forever. It will start filling up. The human body has the natural ability to reject all foreign bodies. Additionally the secretions in the mouth are known to be extremely fast healing. If your dentist advised then you may rinse your mouth with listerine . One part of listerine with two parts of water. Best wishes and good luck. Oh yes. Rinse your mouth lightly and first preferably with water and do not swallow. Spit it out so you will be able to see the grain of rice or whatever is left of it.

Loose adult tooth !!!!!?

I was eating toffee bar,I bit into it and my tooth became loose! And its an adult tooth so it wont grow back if it falls out!Im really scared because it near the front!!Can a loose tooth grow back into place!??Please help!!!!!!Please!

Thanks so much!

Loose adult tooth !!!!!?
No, it won't grow back, Go to your dentist to consult with them instead.
Reply:If it's that loose I would get it checked out at the dentist.

But, I've heard teeth can re-root.
Reply:this tooth will most probobily re-root. Just don't chew on that side for a while and dont brush it 2 hard and it will be fine .
Reply:If the tooth is loose there is an underlying problem, bottome line. If it came losse when you bid down on something there is a chance that the tooth broke off from the crown and the periodontal ligament is the only thing holding it in place. If this is the case, it is not good and it might be possible to do a root canal, post and core, and a crown, or it might just have to be extracted.

The other scenario is you have periodontal disease and you have bone loss and attachment loss around the tooth leaving less support therefore causing it to be mobile. There are several methods to treat periodontally compromised teeth.

So, only a dentist can tell you what the cause is, so I suggest you see one.

Does the method of teeth cleaning change from teen to adult?

I'm pretty worried about what they are going to do, I have not got my teeth cleaned in a few years, but I brush my teeth very well... Does anyone know the differences? Or is it just the same?

Does the method of teeth cleaning change from teen to adult?
Yeah, it's the same. Perhaps they're a little more rougher, though.

I've been ditching all of my appointments... but I've been brushing my teeth the same as always... ugh.

Anyway, yeah. it's the same. D: I hate dentists...
Reply:The method for teeth cleaning is the same. You should get your teeth cleaned every six months. Remember once your teeth fall out you do not get new ones unless you get dentures. You should really take care of your teeth. It is the

first thing people see when you smile. Bad teeth may cause some people not to treat you the way you should be treated.

Adult tooth behind baby tooth?

really embarassing... I am 21 and I have an adult tooth that grew behind a baby tooth, I now have insurance so I can get it fixed. Is this going to be painful?Am I going to need braces or implants?

Adult tooth behind baby tooth?
your just going to go have it pulled out. my daughter had several.
Reply:You should have had it removed a long time ago. It causes your teeth to be crooked. I would have yanked it out myself. It's probably not attached to well anyway. If you prefer going to the dentist it would probably be less painful. They can numb it first. It probably won't hurt afterward. If your teeth have become crooked you probably will need braces.

Baby tooth wont come out. adult tooth is coming in crooked because of it, and its making another tooth crooked

Get braces.

Reply:u should definatly go to the dentist they will pull it out or tell you to wait for it to fall out onece it does ypu will need to get braces
Reply:you should definatly look after that.. Go see a dentist, twll them your problem that doesnt seem good.
Reply:It could be any or all of your wisdom teeth coming out. Those teeth tend to put pressure on other teeth. If that is so, you will need to see an oral surgan to have any or all of the wisdom teeth removed. See a dentist fast before it gets worse.
Reply:The dentist will know exactly what to do. That's why they call him the DENTIST. He will give you a shot (that will not hurt) to deaden your tooth area...then he will proceed to probably pull the tooth out. You will feel a little pressure....that's it. Depending on the closeness and growth of the new tooth to this baby one...that will determine what steps he will take..NO BIG DEAL...don't scare your self over this.. just make an appointment..go to the dentist...get it fixed...come home...play video games..and take some Advil. ♥ ♥
Reply:the same thing happened to my daughter.with 6 teeth,$1000 to pull the teeth and $5000 for braces.she wore for 2 years.you need to get it taken care of before it gets worse.
Reply:actually alot of ppl can loose a few adult teeth and is even a good thing because their mouths are smaller than the number of teeth we are all suppose to hold. so if you loose one dont sweat it, sounds like eventually you may need braces or maybe just a retainer to straighten them out, if your still loosing baby teeth,,,,,,,,,,,,,dont worry so much about your teeth just yet, you still got some growing to do, as does your mouth. wait a while before you start worryin.

Adult tooth growing in strangely?

Last August I noticed a tooth beginning to protrude from my gums. My family dentist had a look at it and told me that I didn't have anything to worry about for the time being and that it was just an adult tooth that had come late (I'm 20). However, now it seems to be protruding from my gum at a very odd angle and rubbing up against the inside of my lip (it's a canine) and is changing the angle of the adult tooth beside it. The baby canine has yet to fall out. I'm worried as I am a student and have no dental insurance and my family doesn't have much money at this time of the year. I've never had a problem like this before. Should I be worried? Will I need orthodontics?

Adult tooth growing in strangely?
You should go to the dentist and have the baby tooth removed. There's a chance that the permanent tooth will ease into the correct position, or close to it, after that tooth is out of the way. But you may need braces down the road, when you can afford it.

Your dentist should have done something about this a long time ago.
Reply:Well, about the only option I can think of is braces.
Reply:you are twenty and still have a baby canine? You dentist is a moron WARNING IDIOT ALERT and should be replaced immediately.

The baby tooth needs to go and quick before all your other teeth are knocked out of alignment. If you are a full time student your family member that has insurance should be able to get you on their plan with little problem. At least get a second opinion, fast. Many small town dentists have payment options for those uninsured. Do it now while it will stil be manageable, braces are huge money.
Reply:you probably need the tooth pulled asap so it doesn't cause any more damage. another dentist should be able to tell you whether to pull the baby one and fix the other tooth, pull them both, or whatever other options...i obviously am not a dentist. :)

do you have any dentistry schools in your area? if so, call them and ask what it costs to come to the school as a patient. they are always looking for "volunteers" to practice on. the plus is that the student is good plus the dentist they are learning from are GREAT.

also, many dentist offer payment plans. call around and ask. same as orthodontist!

good luck! SD
Reply:Sorry to freak you out, but yes you should be worried. Go to the ortho immeditanty. You might need braces. (It doesn't hurt until you tighten it..ouch)

Adult tooth emergence?

I had surgery about a year ago to have a baby tooth removed and a chain was placed on the adult tooth to pull it down. About four months ago, the chain was removed so that the tooth could come in on its own. It is about 40% down at this point. I know everybody is different, but about how much longer should this take? And then how long will it take to get that tooth aligned with my braces? How long does it normally take for an adult tooth to come down?

Adult tooth emergence?
ortho treatment usually takes about a year to one %26amp; a half year. Dont make the tooth to come out too fast or the nerve can get cut %26amp; the tooth will get non vital. Let it take its own time to come out, your orthodontist will know well.
Reply:my daughter had this done and it took over a year. The dentist said that massaging the gums with your finger and or toothbrush helps it come down faster.

Adult tooth growing over my baby tooth?

Listen ! dun panic ... ihad this problem when i was young ....the dentist will pull the old one ...and its sooo easy and u wont even need braces..it will move to its right place by time ...that what happend to me .....and wow u sound so caring ...wish ur babies good health !
Reply:get the tooth pulled by a dentist, it doesnt hurt...you'll just havta get braces to move the adult tooth down.
Reply:go to the dentists to get it removed. it may really start to bug you after a while so you would want to get it removed.
Reply:that happened to me too when i was little. The little tooth eventually fell out and the big tooth then had room to grow. i just needed braces to get it more in line. check with your dentist to see if it is a big problem, but it probably isn't.
Reply:go to the dentist!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Take out the baby tooth out ASAP, go to your dentist or something. I have the same thing. My dentist told me to take mine out, that the adult one would come down. I feel that i waited too long though, and that even if i take out the little tooth the big one wont come back down (i could be wrong) and i'll just be left with a gap.
Reply:elephant tooth, get it pulled
Reply:This has happened to me. The adult tooth was growing in too fast, so I had the baby tooth pulled. Later, when you are a little older, you might have to get braces to fix the crookedness of the adult tooth.
Reply:I got the same problem. My cousins did when they were younger and they got the baby tooth pulled and then got braces. No you can't even tell that they ever had that problem! G'luck
Reply:You have over crowded teeth :) Sorry to break it to you. You might need to get braces to get them in the right area :) You have a choice, but I would recommened you getting them because after the result is amazing
Reply:this is going on right now with my 8 yr old. He has had to have 4 baby teeth pulled because they do notget loose or fall out and then the permanant tooth comes in behind is causing him to have 2 rows of teeth. Everytime he tells me a new tooth is coming in I have to call the denist to pull the baby tooth. We are now waiting for a retainer also to be made because his permantant teeth are out of alignment and causing bite problems but because he still has 90% of his baby teeth he cant get braces yet.

Call your dentist and get your baby tooth pulled your mouth will be sore for about 2 days.++++
Reply:I had the same problem with my canine teeth, I had two already, but two were growing in the gum on top. I had to get them pulled so that way the tooth growing on top would eventually grow into the proper spot. It's not a big deal, it's really common actually.

How bad is the pain when pulling out an adult tooth?

I was thinking about getting braces for some time now. I've been very afraid of getting four of my teeth pulled out because of the pain. How bad would you rate the pain of pulling out an adult teeth? 1 being not so bad %26amp; 10 being the worst.

How bad is the pain when pulling out an adult tooth?
I think the pain is very individual. I had 4 teeth pulled before I had my braces and my 4 wisdom teeth removed later on in which 2 of them were surgically cut out without much pain at all. I never even took the pain medicine the dentist gave me and ate dinner that night. My sister had her 4 wisdom teeth pulled without being cut open like me and she was swollen up like a chipmonk for days. How do you normally handle pain? That may be a good sign as to how you will react to having your teeth pulled. I remember when I was a small child and my mother had gum disease. Back then they did not have any treatment and just pulled all her teeth in one visit. She was miserable. I can't even imagine a dentist like that.
Reply:you don't feel it, you're numb
Reply:You are completely numb, so you won't feel anything!
Reply:try and see that the pain is just like a bite of an ant
Reply:I've had two teeth out and honestly the pain *afterwards* is like 2 or 3 at most. The actual teeth pulling was not painful at all. Just a slight pressure of the pulling and that's it. What was worse was the needle. That hurt more.
Reply:Just had mine pulled a week ago didn't even know it was out till the dentist got up and told me it was over.
Reply:if you are going to a dentist, they will most likely sedate you if your having four teeth removed. after the will give you something for the first few days, then its just a little sore, a regular healing sore, but nothing excruciating. when you get the teeth you want you ll most likely feel so much confident about yourself, you ll realize it was totally worth it. on scale of 1-10 a 3
Reply:A typical tooth pulling should be generally painless during the removal process because you'll be numbed prior to its removal. The only thing you will feel after numbing should be pressure. Most people don't realize their tooth has been pulled until told by the dentist or dental assistant (this was the case with all of my pullings).

That being said, you will likely be sore afterwards due to gum trauma. Such soreness may last anywhere from several hours to several days.

Is it possible to place crown on a front baby tooth in adult??

I am a 30 years old male and still have a front baby tooth (never replaced by adult tooth), for cosmetic purposes i want to ask is it possible if i can put a crown on my small teeth to make it look normal like other teeths, or is there any better procedure availabale ??? please help...

Is it possible to place crown on a front baby tooth in adult??
Maybe...but there are risks that it could fail.

1. Is it loose at all? If so, then no can do.

2. What sort of root does it have? The bigger the root, then the better your chance of success.

3. Which tooth is it? And how much force will you be exerting on it? Baby laterals are a poor choice; baby canines are better if they have a good root, but you wouldn't want to bring it into a proper functioning occlusion.

4. Is there room either side of the tooth? Ideally, you would only want to put a very light chamfer on this tooth at the gingival margin and not remove any of the remaining crown structure. A bit of access along the side of the tooth would help. Separating elastics may help.

5. You could always try a composite build-up first to see if the size will be what yopu want, bearing in mind the limitations of 3.

6. If you don't want these options, then an implant or cantilever bridge might be the go. If it's a baby canine, then look for the adult tooth - is it impacted?

It's a chancy thing to crown a baby tooth. However, I made a temporary composite bridge for a patient 5 years ago from baby canine to 2nd premolar because she didn't want to have surgery to remove impacted adult canine and then follow with implant. So after 5 years and the composite is surprisingly still holding, we're going to try a fixed bridge.
Reply:It is possible
Reply:You should of had the tooth removed a long time ago.You most likely have to many teeth in you mouth now.Get it pulled. And braces to move other teeth.
Reply:Yes you can get a crown on it. I just had 4 crowns done less than a year ago thanks to military dentists. All they do is ground down your existing tooth to a little nub and put the crown over it.

That is assuming that you have enough room in your mouth for that tooth and they would most likely take the molding from your existing adult tooth. It will be different and more difficult for the dentist, because he/she will have a hard time making sure that the tooth fits properly against the surrounding teeth.

One of the crowns that I had put in was a little too high and I was unable to bite down completely where all of my teeth would connect. They had to go back in and ground it down for it to fit better. The best thing to do is go to your dentist and ask he/she if they are able to do that procedure. Good Luck!!
Reply:Talk to your dentist about options. Bonding is one option that is less expensive than crowns.

Teeth whitening: i am a adult who has drank too much coffee! i would like to whiten my teeth at home, but?

...have a dental plate at the front. all the commercial whiteners i have looked at state that they will not work on dentures/dental plates. do you know what would work -- to whiten BOTH my natural teeth and the plate?

Teeth whitening: i am a adult who has drank too much coffee! i would like to whiten my teeth at home, but?
Listerine whitening rinse.
Reply:I have a dozen crowns, so I know what you mean.

I think the plate will only clean up to what it was when it was made.

I use Baking Soda to clean surface staining, hydrogen peroxide to help the bleaching process. Whitening toothpaste and rinse will help some.

The dentist is who you need to talk to about the serious and total whitening.

Good Luck.
Reply:NOTHING WILL YOUR WORK FOR THE DENTURE/PLATE. BUT YOU CAN USE CREST WHITE STRIPS FOR YOUR NATURAL TEETH, AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO VENEERS OR CROWNS. AS FAR AS THE DENTURE IS CONCERNED,

HAVE A NEW ONE MADE THAT HAS WHITER TEETH.
Reply:I read recently where someone said just swish hydrogen peroxide around in your mouth for ten minutes and it will whiten your teeth. Works great for me!
Reply:Dr Albert is correct (THO I WISH HE WOULDN'T SHOUT SO MUCH! LOL)..... you need to whiten (whether w/ a custom tray or w/ Crest strips...) FIRST, get your natural teeth as white as they can go and then do one of two things:

1 - have a whole new partial made; if it's more than 10 years old you may need a new one anyway. orrrr

2 - have the dentist send the partial to the lab and have them jsut replace the anterior teeth. This usually costs only a coupla hundred bucks rather that 1000-1500 for a new partial.

you could try dropping your denture in a peroxide rinse and scrubbing it w/ a brush, but that probably won't have a very dramatic effec t.....

good luck!
Reply:Or you could try going to a denturist where they industrial strenght cleaners for dentures, partials ect... They can clean them far better than any over the counter means.
Reply:Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and

are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural

I am an adult and need my teeth fixed but this is the problem I am the biggest chicken when it comes to the?

dentist how can I overcome and how do I find a dentist that is caring and has compassion about my fear

I am an adult and need my teeth fixed but this is the problem I am the biggest chicken when it comes to the?
Remember, they are doctors and studied teeth for a decade and have seen it all. The good thing is that you're taking care of them and that's a really good thing. Everyone is scared of the dentist. I didn't go for 5 years and it wasn't as worse as I thought it would be. Then I told myself,"what's the worse that can happen?" I thought of the most absurd things. Like being wheeled off to the ER because my teeth was inoperable to them. Totally not the case. Now I go every 6 mths and guess what? I'm still terrified before I go, lol. Buck yourself up. Tell yourself to,"get it over with!" Book the appt asap and look at the calendar. In 2 months, so much stuff will go on with your life and the dental appt was just something that you had to do and now you're done. On the day of the appt, make a plan to do something AFTER the dental appt. That way, the day isn't all about the dentist. I planned to have a movie fest after and it made me look forward to that all day. Once you're there, tell them you're nervous. I did. I told anyone who asked how I was. They were very caring and explained everything. And remember, if you don't like the way you treat you, you have the power to walk out. But the dental field has changed a lot. They're more caring and nice. When you're there, take a deep breath and close your eyes. Bring a mp3 player if it helps. Have a ring or bracelet on to play with. Bring a small ball to squeeze if it helps. =)

Ask coworkers or friends if they can recommend a dentist. Or call 1800dentist for one in your area. Or go to doctoroogle.com to see if a doc had been reviewed in your area by a patient.

I've been there and trust me, waiting for it is much worse than when you're there. Make the appt and take the soonest they have. That way, your mind has less time to worry. Remember to remind yourself to,"Get it over with." =) It's going to be the best thing you ever did for yourself. Good luck!
Reply:More and more dentists are taking care of those with the worst dental fears. My sister is like you. She has a dentist that will even put her to sleep to CLEAN her teeth.

Just call around your area. There are probably several you can choose from. I have to tell you that it will be expensive---my sister had 2 teeth pulled and it was $1,600---most of that was because of the anesthesia.
Reply:ask your close friends what dentist they go to and ask about them it might help knowing that they go to that dentist and know about them then maybe youll feel more comfortable
Reply:here they have something called "sedation dentistry" where they put you under to take care of your teeth if you feel uncomfortable at the dentists.

check your listings in your phone book.

and call all the dentists to see if any of them could allow you to be sedated while working on your teeth.
Reply:Look in your yellow pages for a dentist that caters to cowards. There are lots of dentists that advertise this specialty so just look for that in the phone book. If you can find one like that in your area then ask your closest friends who they see and call ahead and explain your situation and ask if the dentist would prescribe a mild anti-anxiety med for you before your appointment. I used to avoid the dentist too but now have a pair of great dentists. I still don't like going but it is not a bad experience anymore for me.

How loose does my adult tooth have to be before I get concerned?

I am 40 years old and I was hit in the mouth with a baseball. My tooth is slightly loose, and I wondered if loose adult teeth generally heal them selves.

How loose does my adult tooth have to be before I get concerned?
If it barely moves, you'll be fine in a couple of weeks. See your dentist anyway to find-out for sure.

If it moves freely, see your dentist immediately. He *may* be able to save the tooth.

In the absolute worst scenario, the tooth has been fractured, and the "live" part of the tooth may or may not have been damaged. In any case, you will likely end-up with a cap.

In the absolutely best case, you've suffered no more than a glancing blow that will heal in a few weeks. In this case, the bruise to the face, fat lip, and the eating funny for a couple of days are the worst of it.
Reply:Get to a dentist immediately or you will lose the tooth.
Reply:See a dentist. Even if it does heal itself it may very well heal wonky, possibly enough to pressure other teeth. You probably shouldn't have left it.
Reply:go see a Dentist to be sure

I was in a car accident causing 2 loose teeth

I had to wear a retainer for a few months to make sure they bonded to the socket again
Reply:I would go to the dentist to correct it as soon as possible if you loose it its gone for good is it worth taking that chance?

How much would it cost as an adult to have my protruding teeth fixed?

I had braces as a teenager, but I failed to wear my retainer as much as I should have. Now I'm in my 20's and all my teeth as straight except for the front two which, as well as being quite large, protrude somewhat. I get very embarrassed about them and I would love to have them fixed, but I'm not sure I can afford it. Does anyone know how much it might cost?

It depends upon where you live and what needs to be fixed. I practice in Sacramento and I charge $5200 per complete case. It is possible that your Orthodontist may charge, if only your upper front teeth needs to be fixed. Hope that helps
Reply:Alot of money.
Reply:I would guess several hundred, towards a thousand maybe.
Reply:it will cost thousands
Reply:see your dentist as it may be able to be treated on the NHS if this is causing mental distress.
Reply:That depends on where you live, but you can get help. You can get low cost work done at high quality dentists: There is a very in-expensive but high-quality dental plan that can help you with that. It doesnt pay 100%, but can save you signifcant money, and most dentists are good about taking payments if you at least have a plan of some sort. How long will it take for my adult tooth to grow back?

i am 13 almost 14.

i just had 2 of my baby teeth pulled out yesterday cuz the dentist said the new tooth was coming in and my baby teeth were barely loose.

1) how long do u think it will take for my adult teeth to come

back fully?

2) how long do u think it will take for my adult teeth to start to

come out and start showing?

i really hope they start showing before september 7th cuz thats when my school starts!

and i don't wanna start high school like this!

How long will it take for my adult tooth to grow back?
Adult teeth don't "come back", they are entirely new teeth. If you had baby teeth pulled, the adult teeth will grow in when they're good and ready. You can't make them grow any faster. [Sorry]. But if the dentist pulled the baby teeth because the adult ones are growing, I'd say they should start coming in within the next couple weeks.

I had to have my last baby tooth pulled when I was like, 15. My adult tooth grew in before the baby one even got loose, and it just pushed the baby tooth out of the way to make room. It was kinda painful, so it's a good thing you got those baby teeth pulled out now.

Considering it's only the beginning of July, I'm pretty sure your adult teeth will be grown in by the time you start school :-)

Good luck with the braces too. You're a lot better off getting them now when you're younger, don't put it off longer than you have to. But wait until your parents get the insurance. lol.
Reply:1)about one month and a bit

2)a few weeks maybe sooner

if the dentist pulled your teeth chances r he pulled it becuse your adult tooth was very close to comeing in but some times baby teeth do not get wiggley
