All mammals have two sets of teeth. The milk teeth and their adult teeth, it%26#039;s one of the defining characteristics of our genera. Outside of hair, milk and our ear bones.
It%26#039;s the price of having specialized teeth, all other vertibrates with teeth have an unlimited capacity to regrow their teeth. Their teeth are just variations on a cone shape though. No specialized crinders and cutters or chisels.
Do only humans lose baby teeth and grow adult ones? Dogs, Monkeys, etc...do they lose baby teeth?
YES - only sharks don%26#039;t
Reply:Most animals loose baby teeth. Dogs and cats usualy swallow them.
Reply:They almost all do, some have and infinite set of teeth always available to cover the lost ones
Reply:Dogs definitely do. and monkeys presumably so. Anything with teeth when little has to get adult teeth later, because teeth do not grow.
Reply:I know for sure dogs do, I have found several from my puppies.
I gather the same goes for cats and other animals.
Reply:Almost all animals with teeth have both baby and adult teeth.
Reply:I dunno about Monkeys, but puppies do. They usually swallow them, but I am sure if you look really hard you may find one in their food or something.
