i had 3 baby teeth pulled out yesterday ( the adult teeth had grown already) well 1 came out completely and 2 came out about 3/4. its is all red and my gums are like halfway up my teeth like its swolen. how long does this take to go down? i got them pulled out at about 4:10 and its 6:40 the next day.

I had 4 teeth taken out so that I could get my brace, it took a few days for it to calm down and be able to eat solid foods again.

I think you mean that your adult teeth were already emerging underneath.....keep an eye on the swelling...any sign of infection go back....meanwhile, wash mouth out with boiled water that u let cool down and add some salt....do this after food....careful brushing - avoid the area inflamed,,,,,asprin is not good...thins blood may lead 2 bleeding, use paracetamol based pain killer...should go down soon - call dentist and ask if u are really worried...

I'm 14 and my teeth are so loose they're about to start falling out. Now what do I do?
The dentist said they're all my adult teeth, which I pretty much figured. But he also said most of my front teeth probly aren't saveable and a lot of the rest are doubtful. It's from advance gum disease he said comes from a variety of things, like hormone changes, and other stuff at my age, and not brushing very good or flossing and whatever. I know I probly could have done a lot to keep my teeth in better shape like brush better or whatever, but now that they'll be coming out very soon one way or another, is it like a really big turn off for guys? I mean worse than bad looking teeth? or the same as bad looking teeth.? I already have really bad looking teeth, so I know most guys are turned off by them. what will happen when they fall out or get pulled out tho? What will guys think then?

Reply:You need to have you parents check their insurance to see if dental implants are covered. If they are then consider implants. See your dentist again soon and discuss with him what options are available to help you and also what he needs you to do to help protect the teeth you still have.

Reply:I have moderate periodontitis. I have a similar problem and now I have the same fears! I hope that I don't lose all of them! But, you should be talking about this with your dentist. There are porcelin veneers that you can have put in! Expensive but they look and feel like real teeth!

You can get treatment go to a gum specialist. it is not attractive to have no teeth and people can't keep dentures in. You can get treatment. I have seen people come in with loose teeth and the doctor has done wonders for him. A regular Dentist cannot save your teeth a Periodontal Dentist can... It is worth it. SOme people have surgery which sounds like oh my god. but it really is not bad... People say they do not have pain really...

Dental question about milk teeth and braces?
A 15 yo has got 2 milk teeth (middle of the lower jaw, left and right side) where an xray supposedly showed that there wont be "adult" teeth replacing them.
The dentist suggests extracing the milk teeth and intends to use braces for pulling other teeth into the gap.
To me that seems a bit strange, esp. since these teeth will be used for chewing and have to take a lot of pressure for the rest of their life not being up straight after being pulled over...
Has anybody heard of a similar procedure being done already, or would anybody know where I could get more info on this?

My daughter's bottom teeth protrude over her top teeth (underbite?) She only has four teeth on top and three on the bottom so far but when she closes her mouth, her top teeth are completely covered by her bottom ones. She has no trouble eating and no problem with her speech (just starting to talk, and what she says is very clear). My husband asked our neighbour who is a dentist about it and he said it is not a problem but I would like to know if this has happened to your child and if the problem corrected itself with time or when the adult teeth came in. Thank you for your help.

There is no need to concern yourself at this age (2yo?) - it is too early for any treatment.
When she has turned 7 and has had her adult 1st molars come thru at the back, then take her for an orthodontic assessment. They will be able to give you some idea of where she's going and possible treatment options.

My baby didn't have an underbite when her teeth came in, but I've heard that some young ones can have an underbite phase that goes away with time.
Reply:Your daughter definitely has an under bite and there are two things you can do
1. Take your daughter to an orthodontist and get her braces at the age of 9 or 10 because at that age, her bones are still growing and the braces could shape the jaw/bone structure properly, fixing the under bite.
2. If you don't braces, she would have to get jaw surgery where they they push her jaw back so the top and bottom can meet properly.
I think braces is the better choice, but make sure that you treat this problem early and not later.

I currently have an underbite and have had it since I was about 8 or 9. They gave me headgear to fix it, which it did, but took it off too soon and my underbite came back. I got braces on when I was 13 and now at the age of 17 still have them on, and currently waiting for my jaw surgery this summer, right after graduation. :( My problem is that I have an under-developed upper jaw so they are going to move it forward during the surgery.

Alright I need some help. On Monday im having 2 teeth pulled. There adult teeth and there my top molers. They are mostly broken down to the gum and my dentist is calling this dentil surgery. Im 15 years old and have never had a tooth pulled I no it will hurt but how much and do you think theyl give me gas, a shot or put me to sleep. Iv never had a tooth pulled how do they do it. Will they give me mediction afterwerds and are there any special things I need to do before or after surgery. Please help me out i am very nervious.

I had four done in one sitting. It's not so bad. They will likely give you sleepy juice in needle form. They use a topical anesthetic too so you won't feel much. It does not hurt at all. Just a little pressure and a sore stomach from swallowing blood. Just enjoy the days of ice cream afterward. Nothing to worry about.;
Reply:I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled and it didnt hurt a bit its just wierd cause you can feel everything but it doesnt hurt cause of the pain shot! I didnt even have to take the pain meds afterwards but be aware afterwards youll be sleepy and take a nap you might wake up to a blood stained pillow and it freaks people out but dont worry about it!
Reply:They will give you gas or a shot, so it won't hurt. You might feel a little stick if they give you a shot, but if they do that, they will put a numbing agent on it first.
Just remember to close your eyes before they start working and don't look over at all the tools, you will be fine.

they'll either give you 'happy gas', medication, or a shot that will help numb the mouth so you wont even feel it.
you'll be fine, its just fun to get put to sleep w/ that happy gas, and having your mouth go numb is cool cause it feels so funny that you cant feel it
so dont worry, it'll be over and done with with no pain at all

My dentist gave me a mask (maybe laughing gas?? can't remember, but doesn't really make you laugh, just makes you go to sleep) and told me to count backwards from 100. I got to 98 and I was out. When I woke up I was groggy and later my mouth hurt, but it was fine. Not EVEN as scary as it sounds. They really do know what they're doing. You might get a shot beforehand, but it won't be that bad. It's like a filling shot. Just close your eyes. Good luck! I hope it's not too bad for you.

I am pretty certain you will be given pain medication afterwards, though.

Get your freaking parents to get you to a dentist that will refer you somewher to get dentures or post for fake teeth. No guys like teethless women. Well at least I don't think so.

my ex had baby bottle gum diease and all his baby teeth rotted out and then his adult teeth from beign put to bed with milk and juice as a baby. he got dentures and unless you told you bout them you would never no. Dont worry shitt happens just find your way around it and move on!
Reply:The dentist is not going ot leave you with no teeth! They will do what they can and you may need partial dentures or some crowns, etc. There are a lot of things that can be done and then you will have nice looking teeth and no one will be the wiser.
I am sorry that you have to be going through this! How horrible at your age! I feel for you.
But once they are all fixed then you don't have to tell anyone that they use to be bad teeth! It will be OK.

Reply:the way you feel about bad teeth is probably the same as others would feel. talk to the dentist about things he can do to help. 14 is too young to have to deal with having no teeth or bad teeth. you have many years ahead of you. if you are getting them taken care of dont worry how others feel about it. as soon as your treatments are done youll feel better and look better and wont have to think about others opinions.
Reply:my best friend lost all of her teeth when she was 16 but it wasn't from not flossing or brushing enough it came from when she was a baby she was allergic to the milk and the formulas. yes it is a big turnoff to guys but you can get a partial or even dentures that look like real teeth and noone will even be able to tell the difference. she has dated a lot of guys and is now married and til this day none of the guys ever knew, including her husband that her teeth are not real. besides i would rather have fake teeth than rotten ones that may be something you may want to consider doing especially if it bothers you that much

my ex had baby bottle gum diease and all his baby teeth rotted out and then his adult teeth from beign put to bed with milk and juice as a baby. he got dentures and unless you told you bout them you would never no. Dont worry shitt happens just find your way around it and move on!
Reply:The dentist is not going ot leave you with no teeth! They will do what they can and you may need partial dentures or some crowns, etc. There are a lot of things that can be done and then you will have nice looking teeth and no one will be the wiser.
I am sorry that you have to be going through this! How horrible at your age! I feel for you.
But once they are all fixed then you don't have to tell anyone that they use to be bad teeth! It will be OK.

Reply:the way you feel about bad teeth is probably the same as others would feel. talk to the dentist about things he can do to help. 14 is too young to have to deal with having no teeth or bad teeth. you have many years ahead of you. if you are getting them taken care of dont worry how others feel about it. as soon as your treatments are done youll feel better and look better and wont have to think about others opinions.
Reply:my best friend lost all of her teeth when she was 16 but it wasn't from not flossing or brushing enough it came from when she was a baby she was allergic to the milk and the formulas. yes it is a big turnoff to guys but you can get a partial or even dentures that look like real teeth and noone will even be able to tell the difference. she has dated a lot of guys and is now married and til this day none of the guys ever knew, including her husband that her teeth are not real. besides i would rather have fake teeth than rotten ones that may be something you may want to consider doing especially if it bothers you that much

Becuase you know how you hear how it's bad for kids to suck their thumbs becuase it makes their teeth come in crooked. What happens if adults suck penises alot. Will that make my nice teeth shift and become crappy.
I would think not since we have our adult teeth and they are fully in but just want to make sure.
