Please help. I'm a 14 y.o. boy in NYC who has all of his adult teeth in. Sometimes I don't brush my teeth in the morning or at night, and those days I simply don't brush. Now my teeth are loose and I'm afraid that they're going to fall out! This can't be happening! Brushing my teeth now won't help, so what will? Is there any way I can stop them from falling out? Or will routine brushing every day keep them from falling out? They're ALREADY LOOSE AND I'M ONLY 14! Please help me. They can't fall out already!
HELP!
Dental Health Issue, loose teeth!?
I understand your concern and it's good that you care about your teeth. Yes, there is a way to stop your teeth from falling out.
However, your problem can not be definitively diagnosed and the treatment cannot be recommended, without a complete dental exam, xays, and laboratory tests.
What can you do?
1. See your dentist right away for evaluation.
2. Continue flossing and brushing with PROPER techniques at least two times daily.
3. Drink a lot of milk.
4. Stay on a healthy diet and avoid frequent sugar intakes.
Best Wishes
Reply:well it sounds to me as if you have a periodontal problem..(gum)..maybe gingivitis. But i cant be sure until i have seen your gums, if your gums are a bit on the red side then i would say you do have gingivitis.
What you need to do is brush your teeth every day, make sure of it and ensure that you are brushing your gums, not just your teeth.
Do you floss regularly too?
because not flossing is a huge cause of gum problems.
Use a fairly strong mouthwash that contains CLORHEXIDINE such as clorohex 1200 or corsodyl.
Your gums should then tighten up around your teeth in a few weeks...but act upon it now or your teeth will just fall out as all the bacteria under your gums erodes at your jaw bone.
ps; dont wobble your teeth.
Reply:First off, you need a dental checkup ASAP. Routine brushing twice daily followed with a floride rinse will help repair your gums. However, if you do not have the plaque removed that has accumulated along the gum line, you are fighting a lost cause. You need a good cleaning an scaling due to your neglect. Poor dental hygiene can cause all sorts of physical illness and problems besides the loss of teeth.
Reply:Any bleeding gums, are they swollen(inflamed). These can lead to infection and the loss of your teeth. You might need an antibiotic.Tell a parent of you problem. You need to see a dentist. There ways of cleaning below your gums to tighten your teeth. It might be to late. Show someone and get it taken care of.Infection can cause big problems.
Reply:I guess now you know why flossing and tooth brushing are important. You will look ridiculous with dentures as a teenager.
Are your gums bleeding?? If so you have gingivitis, a gum disease. The following will help heal your gums. But you must follow the regimen.
1. Floss and brush TWICE EVERY DAY.
2. Use an ANTIBACTERIAL MOUTHWASH. Your teeth are loosening up because of bacteria in your gums the mouth wash twice every should help that.
3. To help heal you gums, get HYDROGEN PEROXIDE, from the drug store in is most always next to the alcohol.
Take a mouth full and swish it in your mouth and let it bubble, it will bubble out the disease from under your gums. Do this morning and night. DO NOT SWOLLOW, it feels icky if you swollow.
It will heal the bleeding and any pain you have in your gums.
Get started doing these things promptly and call for a dental appointment in about two weeks. Then your gums and teeth should be in much better condition.
Reply:You need to see a dentist, maybe a Periodontist ASAP, like now. You need serious antibiotics and to have your condition determined by a DENTIST as soon as you can get in. There is a chance they can be saved or that some of them can be saved. You can get very , very ill and I urge you to get care now. If the teeth are truly hopeless, only the dentist can tell you what to do. I hope you get the care you need.
