How many wisdom teeth can an adult have?
Four

Reply:4, but some have less. My dad never got any. My friend just had the only two she got removed.
Reply:Yep...it would be 4...no matter how wise the individual..
Reply:Typically only 4, although there have been people who have grown more than that for unknown reasons.

Reply:Actually, some people have more or fewer than 4 ...
Wisdom teeth are third molars that usually appear between the ages of 18 and 20 (although they may appear when older, younger, or may not appear at all). They are called %26quot;wisdom teeth%26quot; because they appear so late—much later than the other teeth, at an age where people are supposedly wiser than as a child, when the other teeth erupt. Often they need to be removed when they impact against other teeth—colloquially known as %26quot;coming in sideways.%26quot;
Wisdom teeth are sometimes described as an example of a %26quot;vestigial%26quot; trait. Some argue that recent changes to softer diets which cause less wear on the teeth may be causing the third molars to be less useful, and, in fact, problematic in many humans. Alternately, it is possible that wisdom teeth were useful when it was common for humans to lose several teeth to decay by the age when they appear.
Although most people have four wisdom teeth, it is possible to have more or fewer. Absence of one or more wisdom teeth is an example of hypodontia. Any extra teeth are referred to as Supernumerary teeth.
Reply:Usually it is 4, 1 on each side of top back and 1 on each side of the bottom back. Usually wisdom teeth get removed since they come in at a later age (around 17-19). They usually abstruct the alignment of previous teeth and can cause severe jaw pain. I still have my wisdom teeth and most have grown in fine except for the bottom right which is growing in sideways and needs to be removed.
Reply:Adults can have up to 4 wisdom teeth. There may be cases in which they grow more wisdom teeth (since there always seems to be exceptions in the medical field), but I bet they%26#039;re rare if they exist at all. But you can have less than four wisdom teeth and you wouldn%26#039;t necessarily be out of the norm. For example, I only had 3 wisdom teeth. That was all that was growing in, therefore when I needed to have them pulled, I only had 3 pulled because that was all I had. But four is the max.
Reply:when the question is %26quot;can%26quot;, then, it depends on the capacity of the mouth! but, normally, an average adult %26quot;has%26quot; 4 wisdom teeth... dont ask me what will happen when some fall off, due to age!
